Perfect Day Celebrating the Holidays in New York City

NYC foodies and adventurers @artsandfood_NYC put together a guide to the perfect day celebrating the holidays in the big apple. Check out their recommendations!

Breakfast at Foragers Table

New Yorkers take brunch very seriously, and we are no exception to the rule. Foragers Table has one of our favorite brunch menus in the city. They have delicious savory items, such as: lamb sausage swimming in a bath of chickpea tomato stew with a perfectly seasoned sunny side up egg - to stuffed ricotta pancakes with candied orange blossom drizzled with maple syrup on top. The ambiance is bright and whimsical and if you sit at the bar, you can see your food being prepared right before your eyes. Before you leave, check out their quaint farmer's market at the front of the restaurant, they carry local artisanal foods that make for a great takeaway.

Holiday Shops at Bryant Park

The Bryant Park Holiday Market is the ultimate place to get your perfect dose of holiday cheer & eats. Stroll through the holiday market, grab a hot chocolate and let your inner Grinch disappear. This is a foodie’s winter wonderland as the market features over 40 different food vendors ranging from thai street food to sugar powdered doughnuts. If you feel like adding a dash of extra romance to your morning, hop on over to the ice rink, situated in the middle of the holiday market and take a spin.

Lunch at Eataly

Step out of one winter wonderland and into another! As you walk through the doors of Eataly, you will feel transported into an Italian market brimming with olive oils, cheese and mouthwatering tiramisu gelato. While Eataly is the home to several sit down restaurants, our favorite experience is standing at a table top in the middle of the marketplace and feasting on fresh mozzarella, savory prosciutto and sipping on a glass of your favorite wine.

Happy Hour at The Nomad Hotel

The Nomad.jpg

The Nomad Hotel is one of the top luxury hotels in all of Manhattan. The secret is that there is a small library tucked away behind their restaurant that features a sensational wine list and cocktail menu. Sitting in this library will make you feel like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. It is opulent, quaint and beyond romantic. Stop by for a beverage, you won’t regret it.

Broadway Musical: Waitress

For you theatre lovers out there, we have the perfect arts to pair with your food. This holiday season, we recommended seeing Waitress, a musical written by pop star Sara Bareilles. The show takes place in a pie shop and at intermission you can sample some amazing mini pies. To top the experience off, they bake a fresh pie in the lobby at the start of every show so that the theatre is filled with the aroma of a freshly baked pie!

Dinner at Sotto 13

Sotto 13.jpg

Tucked away in the West Village, is one of our favorite places to eat hand-crafted pasta, Sotto 13. With a beautiful ambiance that is intimate, inviting and accessible, this local Italian spot makes for the perfect date night. Sotto 13 offers an extensive wine list, small plates as well as flavor packed pasta dishes that will bewitch your taste buds and be the perfect pairing to end your perfect New York day.

Post Dinner Cocktails at Gallow Green Rooftop at the McKittrick Hotel

For all the late night love birds, who don’t want your perfect New York day to end… head over to the Gallow Green rooftop bar above the McKittrick Hotel. This sexy, sinful and sumptuous bar, mixes the beautiful landscapes of New York City with the overgrowing nature of a green house. It’s the perfect way to end the perfect day.
